Busy busy...

The following weeks are going to be hectic for me. This is due to the fact that the Mid-session Tests are coming. Evidence points to the chaps of my class. Even those so-called slackers in class are trying their best to pull up their pants. A sign of things to come...

Highlights for this week.

Monday:(Today) CircuitMaker test. Piece of bullshit. Manual routing killed off many in the class. Only a few lucky ones managed to get it right.

Tuesday: PEEE tutorial. Some doubts on AC and Phasors needs clarification.

Wednesday: Nothing due. Just that need to chill out with Daniel Lim!

Thursday:(Headache) DE Lab Test. THe question papers were released beforehand so we can prepare. Looking at it I see... blur... 2nd headache: IDEAS. I have yet to complete the design plan. and get it burnt on a CD. Cheng Earn is doing the powerpoint for the business plan as well as the A1 sized poster. I have doubts on wether we can submit on time...

Friday: PEEE Lab Test. Osciloscope, Multimeter, etc etc... Blur again...

Thanks to all the workload that I do not have time to play MapleStory. Stuck at level 70 for a darn long time already... I want to progress...

Last but not least. The thing closest to my heart. My family... I feel problems arising... all thanks to one source... that only one source... you are the spark that starts it. If u want it to continue, I will gladly be your catalyst...

School of Engineering Street Soccer Competition 1st Round

Today was the first round of the SP School of EEE soccer. Me and my guys were at the street soccer court watching the games that were happening. Some of the teams were good, really good. Akbar and See Kiang were a bundle of nerves. So darn obvious because Akbar admitted it himself, while See Kiang was kinda serious about everything. Initially I was kind of apprehensive about the 1st game. However, unexpected...we won... 5-0. 1 own-goal, 1 goal by Zhi Kang and a Hat-trick by See Kiang! Akbar produced several spectacular shots but failed to find the net and finally Jiaqing with good distribution and a solid goal-keeping performance. And me being the substitute can only yell my encouragements from the side~! Our teamname: ROJAK...

Real Magic

First time in my life, I witnesses someone performed magic in front of my face. No, its not the crappy disappearing acts me and Johannes did in bunk or some cheap magic trick to bluff kids off thier pocket money...

Yesterday afternoon at the SP-Pool competition at the Morbaly block, there was this guy called Elliot, (I think...) with flowing hair and a goatee. He approached the 3 of us (Me, JiaQing and Nick) and we had a casual chat. Then he pulled out a deck of cards from his pocket and spreaded it smoothly with his hand. Then I was thinking "Oh this guy's got some serious shit in him!". He asked JiaQing to pick a card and placed it at the bottom of the deck (We knew the card). Then with a quick flick of his wrist, Elliot somehow managed to transfer the card up to the deck. We were stupified...

Later he performed many other tricks that got us baffled and amazed. He is able to make objects like cards, coin, cigarettes vanish and re-appear. He even can tell what card I was thinking of by staring into my eyes! Freaky...

Now that's some cool shit... Seeing is believing...

I hurt some one, again and again...

It was last week i think. Half my class were in the library doing our CRS stuff. Some of my friends got cheeky, persistant and curious and tried to access my private stuffs in my lappy. S.Y. restraind me while J.Q. helped himself. Then, my rage kicked in. I broke free and in a spilt second did a bar-lock on J.Q. . I applied moderate pressure on him and he was yelling his head off... Thank god I did not apply max pressure. If not I would be behind bars! After that incident, I feel I was in the wrong...

Over the weekend, everything was forgotten and forgiveness was exchanged between us (Well, we felt that it was no big fuss and we treat that as fun. ). I even thaught him how to bar-lock others!

However, just this afternoon, shit happened again. J.Q , after completeing his circuitmaker, Just came over and bar-locked him. He applied some pressure on me and I felt my arm almost wanting to break. Well, its rage time. He locked my right arm, so i used my right leg and in 1 swift motion tried to trip him. However, he evaded. So I used my other free hand lifted him up and did a back-breaker! Due to the awkward centre of gravity, we tilted backwards and slammed the back of our heads on the wall!

I was stunned for a second or two. Then pain kicked in... J.Q. blacked out for a moment or two... then it seems that he did not experience any real pain. He was sufferering from severe shock I think. After that, it seems he was behaving quite strangely. He again forgive me... and that made me felt damn bad. Crap... it seems that I have repeated what I did last week! I was scared he injured something in his head and thats it!! I felt so fucked up...

Driving T.P... A bundle of nerves!!! >.<

Today has got to be one of the most tense day of my life. Much ($2200 and a whole load of effort) has been put in and it all boils down to this day. Its make it or break it...

Due to extreme kiasuism and nervousness I arrived at BBDC about an hour before. That made my brain go crazy even more. As I was fiddling with the one of the PCs there, my fix group instuctor Mr Wee tapped my shoulder. He wished me success before he left for lessons and reminded me to remove my earrings prior to taking the test. He was somewhat my savior as he gave me a strict driving test scenario and corrected many of my mistakes which I was still making yesterday afternoon. Other instructors from my fix group (6022) like Mr Foo (I always remember him for his sniffings whenever he talks) and Mr Lim (The one whom I drove to his house at Choa Chu Kang to pass a mail)...I am very grateful to them too. I spent the 1 hour of idleness playing mobile phone games. When it was about time, I registered for the test and proceeded for 1/2 hour of warm up in the test car.

At the vertical parking area, I steered too late and kinda mounted the kerb! I was like...that's it. But the instructor tried to calm my nerves and thus I contined with the warm up. And then, shit happens again. At the crank course, I once more mounted the kerb! Good Game!! Total of 20 points already...fail... if its the real test that is! Later, it was time to proceed to the road. Nothing major happened except that there was an instance where I somehow managed to move off in 2nd gear! I did not realize until the instructor pointed to the gear lever!

Back at the centre, I was a bundle of nerves! I was told to go to the 2nd floor to wait for the balloting of test routes. Again, waiting is a must and thus, I waited for another half hour. Honestly, I eyed beautiful ladies/girls to preoccupy myself and to calm myself!

We (all those taking the test), were called into the balloting room to randomly pick our lanes. Luckily I got test route 4, which was pretty easy. If I had gotten test route 6 or 8, I might fail as that would be the Teck Whye area in which there were many ups and downs, heavy traffic, u turns and "funny looking" filter lanes! We were left alone for about 10 minutes to study our routes. Then one by one, the testees were called out to their respective test vehicles. I was one of the last to be called out. My heart feels like its on my stomach as my tester "boomed" out my name. We proceeded to my car...

Throughout the circuit, I was really freaked... Afraid to make even the slighest error. When I was told to go to the main road. I somewhat heaved a sigh of relief. Half the battle is won. On the roads, everything went surprising smoothe. Even at those major roads with 3 or 4 lanes; when I was doing lane changing from the left to right, I remembered that a lorry graciously slowed down to give way to me! Then, I felt like unwinding my window and holla a thanks to him!Finally, I drove back to BBDC. As I stopped the car to allow the always-silent tester to alight, I was totally relieved!

Then, it was the moment of reckoning. Back in the balloting room, the tester grabbed a chair and we sat down. I was facing him with the assessment form on the desk. He casually ticked ticked and ticked and I was like fuck la...So many mistakes meh?? Stress.... Finally, he flipped the paper to the last page and tallied the marks...12... I was elated! (silently)

To cut the story short, I proceeded to get my photo taken and applied for the driving license!Thus, the record still maintains. For my army friends who taken school lessons, the 1st attempt pass is still at 100%!

World Cup 2006 Finals! Italy Triumphs!

Italy beaten France to penalties, winning their 4th world cup. Zinedine Zidane put the french in the lead with a cheeky penalty. Several minutes later, Italian defender Marco Materazzi made amendments to the penalty he conceded by heading Italy level with France. Zidane was sent off during extra time for head-butting Materazzi! The 2 main actors of this drama!! A anti-climatic end to the man with one of the most amazing football career...

So, its good bye Germany 2006, hello South Africa 2010! Can't wait!

The Paradox of Time

This is from my ex-CRS tutor, Mrs Mok. During her last lesson with us, she left us with this very interesting and meaningful message. Here goes...
The Paradox of Time

The paradox of our time in history is that,
we have taller buildings, but shorter tempers;
wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints;
we spend more, but have less;
we buy more, but enjoy it less.

We have bigger houses, and smaller families;
more conveniences, but less time;
we have more degrees, but less sense;
more knowledge, but less judgement;
more experts, but less solutions;
more medicines, but less wellness.
We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values.
We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.
We have learnt how to make a living, but not a life.
We've added years to life, not life to years.
We've been all the way to the moon and back,
but have trouble crossing the street to meet the new neighbour.

We've conquered outer space, but not inner space;
We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul;
We've split the atom, but not our prejudice.
We have higher income, but lower morals.
We've become long on quantity, but short on quality.
These are the times of tall men, and short character;
steep profits, and shallow relationships.
These are the times of world peace, but domestic warfare;
more leisure, but less fun;
more kinds of food, but less nutrition.
These are the days of two income, but more divorce;
of fancier houses, but broken homes.
It is a time where there is much in the show window,
but nothing in the stockroom;
a time where technology can bring the letter to you,
and a time where you can choose either to forward this message,
and make a difference...
... or just hit delete.

Quitted...

My driving T.P. is near..very very near. And I can feel the jitters! The last training a couple of days ago seems okay. On the main roads, nothing serious happened. However for circuit-wise, I somehow have lost touch on how to park my car vertically! Whats worse is, today, I wass too engrossed in maple that I have forgotten to go for the 3.25pm driving lesson!!! I wasted 50 bucks and risk not being able to take driving T.P!!! Damn it!

Alright, this might sound negative but I have called it quits for dragonboat. Somehow I feel that I have let down many of my friends. But I feel I can go no where with it. Aside from taking suppliments, there is absolutely no way for me to get a buffed-up body. But that's besides the point... I agree that the trainings are physically tough but this does not mean I cannot take it. I just want more free time away from school. Now that I almost no CCAs at school, I regularly take log jogs at West Coast Park with Ju and/or Sam to keep fit.

I Had A Bad, Maybe Boring Day...

Perhaps that is the reason I come up with this blog. Crap... Sunday 2nd July 2006. Bored stiff... Woke up in the morning, and had breakfast wif Ah Ray. Later, with Ray, Ah A, Ah Ju, Ah A's Shu Mei, gone LAN gaming. After that they had this proposal that Everyone (Ah A, Ah Ju and Ah Ray with their girlfriends each + me) go watch superman. I was like... am I the odd one out? Should I find another girlfriend called Shu Mei too?? Feel so left out, I decided to go home and slack.

Then I thought about last night, where the 6 of them headed to Villa Bali for a drink while I am at home training Maple level... perplexing... Family relations VS "Being the extra"... Perplexing... Which shall I choose?

Also on the same night. Got scolded my papa for playing too much computer games. I do not wish to elaborate on this as it always happens between me and him. Later, England, which I somewhat secretly cheer for, got knocked out by Portugal. That sums up the bad day of 1st June 2006 Sat

Tomorrow the guys are going for a chalet at Sentosa and I am unable to attend due to schooling commitments! Sianz-Half....

As for later part of the evening, I guess I will be going for a run at West Coast Park again. Running from my troubles and sadness? Maybe...

New blog...

Testing... Old blog is at kevingundam.multiply.com... Most photos will still be available there...

Finally, boredom got the better of me. As I was surfing the net, I suddenly thought of my old blog and its restrictions. Unable to use cbox, unable to use css/java script, etc... Thus, I decided to start a new one. Marlborose! Marlboro + Rose! Don't know why I chose that name, but it ain't a tribute to smoking though!
