Everybody's Birthday

Below: The ingredients for the traditional Hakka dish! Thunder Tea!

Today is Day 7 of the Lunar Year and its Ren2 Ri4 a.k.a everybody's birthday! The day started off with me, Ah A and Ray paying a visit to Grace's house. We had a tradition Hakka dish called "Lei Cha". It consists of lots of ingredients of veggies, fried doufu, dried shrimps, fragrant rice topped up with chinese tea! The mixture taste good! After food, we had a few round of mahjong. Without expert advice, the 4 of us played like noobs, committing countless errors and bloopers! So fun!

After that, the 3 of us guys headed down to Vivo City to get some gifts for Uncle Huat, whos migrating to Europe soon. We got him a Fendi neck tie and an Industries belt. Hopefully he likes it! We were planning to catch a movie later at night. However, we were somehow discouraged from watching it as it was predictably hard to get seats!

So now, back at home slacking and unable to play maple because I'll lag down the connection and make my dad lose more money for his online soccer betting again! Got scolded by my dad for making him lose $500. Pissed...

A Day At NTU!

Yesterday, I spent almost the whole day in NTU crashing my friend's lectures. After helping Ah A with his polytechnic application in the morning, I took the MRT to Jurong Point and got on Daniel Lim's Car bound for NTU. In school, I met many familiar people. Zhang Liang (ex-JC classmate), Melvin (ex-JC school friend), Song Yan (ex-JC friend and BMT/BSLC buddy), Kim Wei (JC hated personality). The first of Daniel's lecture was one on life sciences, and I was there with my laptop out and Maplestory on! The next lecture was C++ and people like Tecky, Ming Feng and Zhen Ming came along. After the C++ lecture, we made our way south to attend the Maths lecture as well as Tecky's elective lecture. The walk was really long. But as what Daniel said, the walk was worh it as there were tons of eye candy! After all the lectures, Tecky had to leave for his hall activites, so later it was Me, Dan, Feng and Geoff having our dinner at some coffee shop in Extension, that kinda wraps up a tiring day for me!

CNY 2007 / Piggy Year! / Birthday

Chinese New Year is always the time of the year I always look forward to. And this year's CNY is no exception. On New Year's eve, my whole extended family would be down at Ah Ma's house for a huge reunion dinner. Jest and gambling is a must and I just love the warm atmosphere on the day before CNY. On CNY Day 1 and Day 2, everyone would dress to their best and gather at Ah Ma's house once again to pay respects to elders, exchange mandrin oranges, mingle around and give the little ones ang pao. I always anticipate a gambling session. People like Ah Ma, my dad, Uncle YK, Chek Chek would be the people at the mahjong table creating lots of noise in the house! People like me, my 2 bros, Ray, Auntie Ean, Auntie Kim, Auntie Im, Auntie June, Uncle Tony, Uncle Francis, Uncle Ghim Xiang and occasionally, my mom; would be the peope playing blackjack and pool! Of course the people at the mahjong table would join in too. Blackjack and Pool are my favourites, although I always lose in Pool. Just hope everyday is as happy as CNY!
Also today, on the 3rd day of Lunar New Year, it happens to be my birthday. 23 years old this year and no less younger. Retiring from the clubbing scene and throwing that cigarette away. Just wondering what's in-store for me this year! Birthday wish is just a simple wish: Good health to my family and Good grades for my studies!

Valentines Day 2007

Yesterday, a busy morning for me, as I had to paint the 2 bathrooms of my Auntie Ean's house. Lucky its the final day, and me and Ray managed to settle everything and got the mess cleaned up.

Later in the evening, Ray, Grace, Ah A and Me headed down to Gillman Foodcourt to have North Indian and Thai Dinner. Ju and Kris did not join us as they want to have their own time. Thai Fried Rice, Patt Thai, Naan Bread. The food is simply great! After the meal, we had wanted to go th Villa Bali for a couple of drinks. However, the place was packed. So we decided to head down to Grace's former workplace. Club 95, Ann Siang Street, Chinatown. We had had liquor and some wine with tidbits. Talked all sort of things under the sun. Club95 is owned by TV actress Irene Ang and, indeed, we saw her later in the night. Mo Xiao Ling was there too and I was kinda surprised that she smokes. Other than the 2 TV actresses, I noticed loads of Lesbians around that place. So this confirms the thing Grace told me about this place. From what I found out, The adjacent road, Club Street, is home to many Gays and Lesbian Pubs. Luckily I was rejected by the manager, because I wasn't gay. If I was gay, maybe the manager would have defnitely wanted me. Lame question...

Paint Job

Below: Ray's room, half-painted.
Below: Its just a "Posed" picture.

What a great way to start my long holidays, by helping Ray to paint his room. This morning, Me, Ah A, and Ray himself were the men at work. Thank god my dad wasn't around, else it would be a super-strict affair. Also, I got "Con'ed" by some Welfare People selling $10 donations... crap...
Come to think of that, Chinese New Year and my 23rd birthday is only about a week away, yet I don't feel any "holiday mood". I just want to find a job that pays good $.

The start of an end...

Sounds cryptic right? I owe many people this promise already and its so damn overdue. I bet many of my buddies will miss me if I stop it. Its hard to quit, but die die also must quit...

A friend once told me "The man who has made up his mind to do will never say "IMPOSSIBLE".."

Finally 3 of us are free ^^

Below: Both of them cut a cool figure in those No.1 uniforms.
Below: Adrian tossed into the air! I feel happy fo him too.
Below: Adrian doing the slow march. A symbol of the end of NSF life i guess.

Below: The ORDing specs contingent formed up.

Last night was hell, I just can't seem to fall asleep although I wanted to. Finally at about 4am, I managed to get some proper shut-eye. Today I woke up exceptionally early (5.15am = about 1.5 hrs of sleep...) due to the din in the living room (My mom burning joss paper!). On a normal day, I would have just gone back to sleep. However, today is Ah A's ORD Parade, and it's something I wont miss! After breakfast and a shower, I took a bus to Boon Lay MRT to catch the so-called shuttle bus to 4 SIR. But that was not to be! No shuttle bus! Grr.. So I sacrificed $7 to take a cab. The parade was quite good for a small contingent. It seems that Ah A's camp treat specs well and, this somewhat reminded me that there was no ORD parade for my batch of specs. Loss of pride, but saves a lot on rehersals (I am for the former). At the parade, I also saw familiar faces. Low Zhen Jia, my JJC school mate, 1SG Ernie previously from SISPEC B Coy Platoon 2 Section 5.
After attending Ah A's parade, I had to rush down all the way to Khatib to study DE with Earns, and Jia Qing, and as usual the whole old Yishun-Woodlands gang. Cover quite a bit of stuffs, but... was somewhat distracted... suddenly a happy and joyous day turns dark and unhappy for me... I just can't believe what I was told by... 2+ months, I just don't wanna waste it!

ASEAN Football C;ship Sing 2 Thai 1

Below: Thailand protest! What an unsportsmanlike behaviour!
Below: A sea of red dwarfs the thai supporters. Polic e trying to pacify a lunatic!
PEEE down, DE and Maths to go. I feel I did not have the same level of confidence as MST2 for PEEE. Yesterday, I finished the paper early and quickly headed down to Mcdonalds for dinner, at the same time waiting for Cheng Earn and Jia Qing. After meeting them and Tiffany, we took cab down to National Stadium. By the time we reached, the score was already SING 1 THAI 0! We heard that it as Noh Alam Shah who headed in. There were 4 of us, but only 3 tickets, so JQ used his mouth and somehow blah our way in! Once inside we joined YiMing, Alvin, MingDa, and JianLiang. The score stayed 1-0 for the 1st half. However, early in the 2nd half, the Thais fought back 1-1. And the most dramatic part: after one of the Singapore players appear to fall in the Thai penalty box, the referee awarded a penalty in favour of Singapore and the Thai players, coach and officials staged a protest! OMG! Eventually, after the Thai players were persuaded back on the pitch, and Singapore leads 2-1 from a Mustafic Fahrudin penalty. Elation! 1st win in regulation time in 30 years!
