Studying @ Franky's Coffee and Sandwich Cafe

Below: That's the place! Good for studying!

Below: Me being a 'tard, looking at strands of curly hair in the urinal! NO LAHm very clean la! No Hair!

Below: Earns and Lobster hard at work, that includes me too! Look at my paper~!

Well, this is the place if you are looking for a really conducive environment to do some serious studying : "Franky's Coffee and Sandwich Cafe". It's located at Millennium Square. Although the place is just opposite Marina Square and Suntec City, it is a rather "unexplored" area for shoppers. Millennium square seems to be the place one can find high-end products such as Hugo Boss and stuff. Perhaps the most prominent store is the Harvey Norman, which occupies almost the entire 2nd floor... I'm deviating... nevermind.. doesn't hurt to write "unprepared" thoughts.

Anyway, I was studying with Lobster and Earns at this cafe and yeah, it's really quiet and peaceful. The music in the cafe was of jazz and contemporary genre; which really sets the mood right. The place is also quite well lit and clean. And oh, one of the employees there, the Korean lady let us sampled Kimchi Pancakes. Its really... "Oi-shi"! Just wonder how she (or her colleagues) make it though!

Unfortunately, the prices of the food were rather steep. I remembered that a plate of "Wall St." cold sandwich cost something like $12.50! I was like commenting that I could have gotten 6 loaves of Gardenia with that! Drinks were equally expensive. 1 cup of American Expresso cost about $5.60. Thank god there was a promotion for selected beverages at $2 only. Earns and I each got a cup of Caffe-Latte while Lobster couldn't "care less" as he helped himself to a huge plate of sandwiches!

So, we hit the books at about 3 plus all the way till dinnertime. Earns went off to find Tuna while Lobster and I headed to the KouFu Foodcourt upstairs for dinner (Cheaper alternative). Lobster's really a big eater, as what I've found out. This shows that you don't have to be fat to eat a lot! I can eat a lot too ok? Just that my pocket's a bit tight only... *scoffs*! After dinner, we continued studying. Earns came back and Julin somehow dropped by for a visit after getting her Haloween costume for some Haloween Night Party at Zouk or Home Club. Then... ... ...

Oh well, what happened later wasn't really everyone's cup of tea. And it occured just when we were about to pack up. Anyway, I really wished that this thing wouldn't happen. But prior to that, I had predicted that such things... perhaps... are unavoidable. I know it sucks, one person putting in effort ain't enough if the other party ain't appreciative. It takes 2 hands to clap... 2 hands... to... clap...

1st time I see... *that image*. I'm really shocked and saddened as well. Really, this image will stay in my head for a long time. Please think through and please take care lil' bro...

Fujitsu Customer Center (USELESS)

Life without the internet really sucks, as what I've found out again today. I was told by the Fujitsu customer service officer that I could send my laptop over for repairs. Finally, my computer will perform as if it was brand-new again.

So just now at about 9am I took a bus down to the service centre. I was told by a female customer service officer(counter 2) that I'd be able to get my laptop at about 2 hours. So I was like whispering inwards "Lucky I brought my PSP to kill time! XD". My laptop was taken in for repairs at about 9.30am. I happily sat down at the plush couch and read today's copy of Straits Times.. thoroughly (except for the recruit, orbituries and money section). After finishing the newspapers, I played PSP for the rest of the time.

At about 12.30, I couldn't stand waiting anymore, I headed down to another female customer service officer at counter 4 (counter 2's wasn't around at that moment) to help me check on the status of the repairs. She returned shortly to tell me that it was still in progress and it repairs would be expected to continue for another 2 hours! Once again, cursing inwards, I was like "Fuck la! The repairs were already delayed for 1 month. Can't you people tell me anything good??" The good-looking miss told me "Why not you go for lunch first, and we will contact you shortly?" She said with a smile. I gave an equally pleasent (inside not so pleasent) smile and thanked her for the trouble.

I really can't stand it amymore. I got my ass moving and I wanted to go home for lunch first. But while waiting at the bus stop for approximately 10 mins, an SMS arrived informing me that my Laptop was ready for collection! I wind-walked back to the Service Centre and took another queue number. By right I was supposed to be served immediately because there wasn't a soul in sight. Counter 4's lady was using the computer. I guess she didn't realize that I was back for my laptop. I waited for about 10mins, a mixture of relief and frustration washes over me. Then there was a new customer who entered the premises. He took a queue number and sat down. Then the electronic board flashed my queue number, and it's assigned to counter 4. Counter 4 Missy looks surprised as she had thought she was supposed to serve the new customer! So i got over and pleasently told her about the sms and I was to collect my laptop. She got me on hold and was back in a few minutes with my laptop in hand. I was like "phew!"...

..but it was not to be! When my laptop was in Windows, it shows a brand new wallpaper devoid of my programs and files. Instead it was programmed with default settings. I couldn't believe my eyes! I opened "My Computer" and frantically searched for my documents, but they were all gone! I was boiling inside, but I politely asked the lady about my laptop.

Kev: "Excuse me, I was told that my programs and settings would be preserved. Why isn't there any left?"

C4Lady: "Erm, it's supposed to be washed off your system because you did not pay the additional $85 to have your data backed-up..."

Kev: "But I wasn't told by your colleague, Diana, that I'd require to pay an additional surcharge! She just kept quiet and said that the initial payment was for labour cost. As free labour costs is only valid for 1 year, I'd definitely assume that cloning my info into the new HDD is part of labour costs. "

We prattle on...

C4Lady: "I am sorry, perhaps I pass you back your old HDD for copying of your documents to the new one."

*She heads back and returns with my old HDD. She passes it back to me to transfer data in the service centre*

C4 lady: "I hope you can find your data. Once you are done, do pass the old HDD back to the lady at counter 1, as we need to have the old HDD retained for a 1 to 1 exchange."

Kev: "Ok, thanks!"

I smiled plesently... but fake smile afterall... PCB, I was supposed to meet Earns and Andrew in school for project. I was supposed to be on-time!! Fuckin' delays these people are putting me up to...

I setup my laptop in one corner of the centre and accessed my old HDD. Yup, Course resources, pictures, musics and games were all still around. I wasn't so worried about them because I had already backed them up last night But, all the other applications such as Office 2003, Circuitmaker, other school-related software and most importantly, my Samsung PC studios are all gone! Why is Samsung PC studios so important?? Because it contains all the messages that I have send and received from Ting!!! And I wasn't able to back up all those sms'es because they do not show up on the directory!

I turned around and wanted to find for Counter 4 lady but she was nowhere in sight! I waited for another agonizing 10 mins. I finally went over to Counter 1 and "kindly" ask the customer service officer to get that Engineer out. I want to have a good talk with him! Another wait...

Finally she came out with more bad news... She said that the Engineer has gone out for lunch together with the other colleagues, including counter 4's lady. For the many times today, I cursed inwards "Why the fuck am i so SUAY? 1 bloody month and nothing is right!" I couldn't take it anymore, I just question the C1Lady on the payment policies and the many hick-ups (the process of getting my computer repaired) that occured.

Kev: "Isn't it simpler just to ghost my HDD onto the new HDD? Why must he go and install new things into my computer?"

C1Lady: "It's not so simple for ghosting. As certain files may be lost due to the integrity of your HDD. And furthermore, we do not have Acronis True Image to back up blah blah blah..."

I couldn't decipher what she was saying anymore because I was blinded with rage.

Kev: "I can't believe this. You guy's are actually inept of doing such simple things" *Shakes head and gives a pitiful smile* "...1 month of waiting do you know that is a very long time to get a CD-ROM installed and a HDD replaced? Furthermore, this delay has caused me much inconvenience in my school work. My HDD often crashed, I couldn't read Project files from the CD-ROM! And you know what? Had I known this problem would surface, I'd have already sent my laptop to a computer shop near my house to get it fixed! Furthermore I myself know how to clone images using ghost as I know how to repair computers... really... I'm lost for words now..."

C1Lady: "I am sorry..." *Pauses* "However, I can keep your old HDD here and hopefully you'll be able to get the information back to your New HDD and stuff"

I think she senses my hidden anger, and she was just trying to appease me. All these while I wanted to yell out, but that would be unappropriate. I wanted to demand for a compensation for the long delay. Finally, I said...

Kev: "... forget it, forget it. If I were to wait another 2 weeks or wadeva, it would be crazy! Thank you anyway..."

Once again, C1Lady apologized profusely and I told her it's ok... (still pissed)...

So! Problems with my Laptop got me frustrated. And also "Yesterday's up till today's" problems also got me fired up! I just can't believe people cannot use their brains to think!?

And so, when I expect problems to go away, another problem comes. My newly formatted laptop can't connect to my home wireless system. PCB... So I spent the whole afternoon troubleshooting, connecting, disconnecting and finally resorted to re-installing the whole system for the 4 laptops at home! I was working like a dog (literally)!

Finally, I got it done at about 6pm... and I still need to put all my stuffs back to my laptop. Also, I need to find a copy of Microsoft Office for use... not to mention other relavent programs...

The best thing 'bout tonight's that we're not fighting, could it be that we've been this way before.
I know you don't think that I'm trying...

Inspiring? Dramatic?

I remembered as a kid, I used to coined this so-called scientific term "Inspiraratio Momentus" to describe actions that seem over-dramatic. Well, I chanced across this video that practically describes my idea. Dramatic Chipmunk is good, but I feel the lemur is more... erm... "whole"!

Poor Mommy Panda. Baby panda gave her a big startle! THe little kiddy must have gotten a sound beating afterwards!

Four!

Above: I said 4 he said 3. No la, just that his index is grabbing on some stuffs!

So, the "unholy" pact was forged, and this contract will bind us till we draw our last breaths... literally! Actually, is just a promise to each other that we will aim high for out final semester. (Hopefully GPA 4!) After that, where we go, only god knows... we can control destiny to a certain extent, the other portion is due to "waddahva"! Shit can happen at times, the question is if it is big or small!

Today was the last day we had our FYP meeting in school. And I guess we have zero'ed down on the main problem. Hopefully we get a pair of matching emitter/detector, and it will run smoothly. School's starting next week, so... guess I'll have to get back to the mood.

Today's I woke up at about 2.30pm in a mess with my hair standing like super sayan! That's because of the tired me just plopping to bed this morning almost 5am! Too much Indi music somewhat got me tired. I just can't believe that Techno wasn't that tiring afterall, but Indi... I just vibrated, jumped and flailed like a madman!

Just now about 8pm, I headed down to Clementi Central to meet Earns to slack. On the way, I tried to help Ah A exchange for some Aussie Dollars, but too bad the money changer is closed. We headed down to a coffee shop to relax and chill. Earns and I had a lot to say... well lot of words close to heart and many many problem. I offered to help but I guess somethings are best left as they are and let nature take it's course. Oh well, life sucks, just go with the flow and take it with a pinch of salt. Just hope he can somehow come to solve any problems he encountered.

Btw, thanks bro, for the Cap u bought from Taiwan! And also thanks for saving my pants for the 2nd time! Its really really very embarassing when the button POPS for the 2nd time!! Garh!

Wanted to sleep at 9am, but still can't sleep, guess its gotta be that sleeping disorder...

Wonder when will I ever get to repair my laptop... Afterall, the engineers figured out that it wasn't the fan that was spoilt. It was actually the HDD itself being buggy and popping up several bad sectors. Perhaps that explains why there were those occasional clattering sounds when I operate my laptop. So for now, I'll just have to save all my files to a temporary folder and update my External HDD more frequently. The customer service personnel told me that I'd have to wait for approximately 2-3 weeks (Which is about school-reopening time)...For now, I'll just have to wait for the engineer to call me up so I can have my laptop fixed.

Last weekend, I was at Boat Quay with Hanz, ZhenNan and Moone. We were quite apprehensive of the scene at Home (as Earns pointed out that it isn't that happening on Saturday nights). Afterthat, we headed down to Dbl 0 and, it was over-happenning! Too much till we had no space to sit or move around. So, after just a measly jug of Carlsberg and several rounds of 5-10s, we headed down to block 631, somewhere in Bedok for more drinks and stuffs. All these while I had wanted to go to Indonesia to have fun with Hanz and the rest. But, *sigh* I really don't wish to bring up my financial problems to everyone. Even Moone tried to drag me along to Dbl O again this Friday, but I just can't oblige.

Come to think of it, this is one of the most boring holidays I had so far. The exception being Uncle Huat back from Switzerland). I was denied chance to find work to earn some cash, and it kinda spoilt my holidays. No money, no fun... guess that's how it goes.

Tomorrow, well erm... later, I'll have to head down to Sim Lim Towers with Andrew and Earns to get those trial components. And after that we would head back to school to have them all assembled for testing and evaluation. Hopefully the diagrams are accurate and also, pray that we can get positive results from the testings.
